The KAILANI CHARTER CHAMPION!

You will be on a 28 FT Mako named Kailani powered by 2 Yamaha 200 horsepower engines that will get you to your fishing grounds quickly. The boat has a range of 100 miles.
We have a fish hold for your catch and a tuna bag to keep your catch fresh until we return to the docks. We have a cooler for your drinks and lunch. The boat is equipped with a Lowrance fish finder and navigation with several coordinates set to secret local only spots that will find your tuna. VHF radio is onboard for communications with our fishing colleagues.
Our bait tank can hold enough bait for your entire day of fishing, and out boat has 4 tuna tubes. It has a hard top and a canopy sunshade for any sun sensitivity and a porta-potty for your personal relief.

Your Captain COPECHE comes from the famous fishing Village Pueblo La Playita, born and raised.  With 35 years of experience on the waters of San Jose Del Cabo you will be navigated to the famous tuna fishing grounds that all of Mexico offers.  He has won many small and big tournaments including the 2022 Brisbe Tuna off Shore. He will only use the best fishing gear available to make sure your fish is on the boat. Once you fish with COPECHE you will never go back to another captain. He gives you ONE on ONE experience when fishing and will answer and will show you everything he know to have the local experience and knowledge.  Here are a few pictures of the fish landed by your CAPTAIN.

Requirements and Payments

Reservations for Charters: Must be paid in full to book your reservation.

Please remember that there are no ATM machines located near our marina dock area, only in the downtown area of San Jose del Cabo. Please tip your crew in cash as well.

We are accepting credit cards from Mexico, U.S.A and Canada. No fees for processing CC will be applied to your reservation costs.

Another Payment Option is to Direct Deposit into our Chase account. If interested, we will e-mail you the details just text/send us a message 949-294-6790 or reservations@cowtunas.com.


Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations with less than 15 days’ notice will be subject to forfeiting their total deposit.

In the event of a cancellation with at least 15 days’ notice, a full refund, minus a $30 administration fee will be returned.

No-shows by anglers on the day of the scheduled fishing charter will be responsible for paying the full amount of the trip. When you reserve a fishing charter, we do not book anyone else for that same date.

In case of bad weather that does not allow for safe launching, we will offer a full refund or change dates if possible.

Fishing Information

RECOMMENDED TACKLE:
If you own your own gear…rods, reels, terminal tackle, etc. we encourage you to bring it with you. We recommend you bring the following:

  • 1 medium/heavy six-foot trolling rod Shamano 50W reel. 60 to 80 lb. test, Quality monofilament line.
  • 1 medium action six to seven-foot fiberglass casting/trolling rod Shamano 30A TLD reel. 40 to 60 lb. test line.
  • 1 light to medium six to seven-foot casting rod with Shamano 20A TLD reel. 20 lb. to 40 lb. test line.
  • Assorted jigs, feathers, Rapalas, Yo-Zuris for trolling, casting and yo-yo-ing.
  • Mustad hooks sizes range from 1/0,2/0,3/0 to 5/0,6/0,7/0,8/0,10/0 depending on bait available, and species being targeted.
  • Similarly sized reels of other popular brands such as Avet, Shimano, Diawa, or Accurate have all proven reliable. Two-speed models are now more popular, providing extra power for battling larger-sized gamefish.
